How To Crack Sainik School Exams in Easy Ways ?

All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year (in January).  This exam is conducted to select deserving candidates for admission to class VI and IX in 33 Sainik Schools across the country.  Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to CBSE.  They prepare cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and other Training Academies for officers.

Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE). The final selection is based on school-wise, class-wise, category-wise rank in the merit list of the Entrance examination, medical fitness approved by competent Medical authorities, and verification of original documents.

Eligibility for admission in class VI The candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as of the last day of March of the admission year. Admission for Girls is open in Class-VI only in all Sainik Schools.
Eligibility for admission in class IX The candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as of the last day of March of admission year and should have passed Class VIII, from a recognized school, at the time of admission.

Passing Marks for Admission

A candidate is eligible for admission to the Sainik Schools if he/ she secures a minimum of 25% marks in each subject of the exam and 40% marks in aggregate of all the subjects of AISSEE 2021. However, admission will be based on relative merit (in AISSEE) of the candidate in his/ her category in the school opted by him/ her, medical fitness, and verification of requisite documents. However, no minimum marks are prescribed for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category. They will be admitted on the basis of inter-se merit at the Entrance Examination within their respective categories, subject to medical fitness and verification of requisite documents.

How to Get Good Marks

First of all, the candidate must be passionate and hard-working.  The exam that you are preparing for is one of the toughest exams.  Below are some tips that one should follow to be successful in the exam:

  • Check the detailed syllabus. Without knowing the syllabus, it’s almost impossible.
  • Go through old papers and start smart study based on the exam pattern.
  • Consult some experienced teachers.
  • Take advice from alumni. They have gone through this process and no doubt their experiences will definitely be very beneficial.
  • Concentrate on the target and be consistent.
  • NCERT is the base. You cannot ignore any NCERT book of any standard.
  • Make notes of every topic covered.
  • The average score in languages is quite low. Concentrate on Math & General Knowledge to fill the gap.
  • Do not read “everything.”  Try to focus on NCERT books…….. Each and every line (in fact, each and every word).
  • Focus on your handwriting. Clean handwriting increases your concentration and is the first step towards success.
  • Be consistent with your schedule. Make an appropriate timetable and follow that religiously. Do not exhaust yourself, take breaks at regular intervals.
  • Also, dedicate some time to cartoons or music. These boost your concentration and increase your focus.
  • Take an adequate diet as per the needs of your body. It makes you confident. A healthy body is the adobe of a healthy brain.
